Charlotte was thoroughly dejected but had to resist all signs of showing it. She couldn’t dare make it seem like there were ulterior motives behind her wanting to dispose of the body other than letting everyone off the hook and saving the band’s ass. Gina had bombarded her with blatant inconsistencies in her plan, something she foolishly hoped would never occur. She doubted the girl’s ability to discover any loopholes and hoped that they would all just go along with whatever she told them. Now she was going to pay the price for her miscalculation by fumbling her way through her defense with some sort of distorted logic.
CHARLOTTE
Gina.. that stuff
doesn’t matter.
GINA
What do you mean,
it doesn’t matter?!
It’s exactly the kind of
thing that’s gonna get us hung.
Everyone except
for Kathy, all
agree with Gina
at the same time.
CHARLOTTE
You guys aren’t listening to
yourselves! If there’s no body,
there’s no leads for the cops! …

JANE

I think I know now why there’s
so many holes in Charlotte’s plan! …
She forgot that Kojak’s been

Charlotte’s right.
JANE

BELINDA

JANE
(in anguish)

(suspiciously staring at Charlotte)

I’m trying to figure out.
CHARLOTTE

my plan and that’s final.

In this band,

Charlotte is
caught off
guard by this.
But then she
realizes she has a
sturdy ally standing
by her side.
CHARLOTTE

We’ll take a vote…
All of you obviously

GINA

KATHY

(reluctantly)

Charlotte smiles
to herself. She
only needs one

JANE

on a minute here!
Kathy, I need to
talk to you in private.
Jane walks
over to Kathy,
grabs her by
the arm, and
leads her into
Belinda’s bathroom.
JANE
Kathy, what is wrong
with you? You can’t
seriously want to go along
with this?
KATHY
Jane…
I think this is
for the best.
JANE
(shaking her head)
This is nuts!
There is something
going on here!
What is it with you two?
Does she have you
hypnotized or something?
KATHY

JANE
Every time I mention
your name around
her, she gets all weirded out…
Now, there’s something going

Rocco to take someone over to the
warehouse on 15th street and beat a
confession out of him!
That’s not
exactly what
Jane heard,

I didn’t know we had a
warehouse on 15th street…
How come I’m always the
last one to know things?
JANE

I think it might have
something to do
with this guy!
KATHY
(doubtful)
Oh, I don’t know, Jane…
Charlotte has her fingers
in a lot of pies… She’s not
careless like that… I don’t
think this is related.
JANE

KATHY

I happen to know
that Charlotte’s conversations
with Rocco are extremely private…
How did you happen to
overhear this?
JANE
Oh, never mind that…
I just did, that’s all.
KATHY

Well, I have some
information for you too…

JANE

KATHY
